BEST FRIENDS ARE THE RELATIVES YOU CHOOSE

Friends come and go, but family always sticks by you. When I have been on hard times I find friends can be fickle but in particular my dad, sister and Nan have always been there for my.

My dad is quite eccentric. He swims in an open-air pool all year round @ freezing temperatures. |He would have gone on Christmas day morning but could not get the transport.

My mum is the most unselfish person I know. She always puts people in front of herself and offers good advice like ‘Just be yourself’ and ‘do things in moderation’, you know mum-like sayings. Both have retired but enjoy an active life.

My sister has just had a baby; he looks just like her partner and is adorable. He laughs @ you when he recognizes you. For a few seconds when he first sees you he scans your face and looks puzzled, wondering who it is.

Joanne is still herself after having Jay but had calmed down a bit. When Mum looks after the baby we got to gigs and to the gym together. She is funny and does impersonations of people from the telly.

Nan had a stroke about 3 years ago and struggles with her words. Sometimes it can be quite funny, like when she says ‘Did you see the cabbage the other night’ and we have to go through a list of things to work out she means telly.
